My love for the Stuart Weitzman boots started in 2011 when I was working at Nordstrom and continually sold them to my customers. I waited for the opportunity to purchase them at 40% off (perks of employee discounts) and finally splurged after months of fawning after them. Since then, I have worn them on a weekly basis (when weather appropriate) and they are easily my most favorite purchase of ALL TIME! That’s why I wrote this Stuart Weitzman 5050 boot review for you so you can feel good about this pricey purchase.
Comfort + Durability + Sizing
From the gardens of Versailles to walking around New York City, these boots have been my ride or dies on most of my fall/winter travels. I spent the entire day walking around Paris in them and did not have one complaint. They are my most comfortable pair of boots!
Not only that but during the colder months, they keep my feet nice and warm (I pair them with tall socks). The best part about them is that since the back is stretchy they are great for any size calves!
As far as the sizing goes, if anything I would size down since they do stretch quite a bit after a couple of wears. But I recommend getting your true size.
How to Style
Below you’ll see a couple of ways to style these boots. I tend to wear them most with leggings but they look amazing with:
- mini dresses
- skinny jeans
- skinny pants
- dresses with tights
How to Care for the 5050 boots
I have replaced the soles once since I purchased them in 2013. They have survived so many trips and harsh winters. But I do take them to my local shoe cobbler roughly once every two years to shine up the leather and make them feel brand new. If you want your designer items to last you need to give them proper TLC.
Pricing + Purchasing
Ok so, unfortunately, the black leather never really goes on sale so if you’re looking for those particular ones then you’ll have to buy them full price at $695 shop them here. However, other Stuart Weitzman boot styles VERY similar to the 5050 over-the-knee-boot go on sale often so continually check Nordstrom or Shopbop. If you’re on a budget consider buying them from Poshmark or eBay. I’ve seen some on there in great condition sell in the $300 range.
I hope this Stuart Weitzman 5050 boot review was helpful for you! And it gave you the push to purchase these. If you have additional questions, leave them below and I’ll get back to you. For more of my styling guides head here. And to shop, all my current looks head to this page!
