A cult favorite in Paris, Boot Café is tiny but mighty. Tucked inside a former cobbler’s shop in the Marais, this spot is known for its excellent coffee and charming interiors. As a coffee connoisseur I must say that this coffee was simply the best coffee that has ever graced my lips. It was so incredibly smooth and my only regret is that I didn’t get a second cup to go. It’s the perfect place to grab a cappuccino before wandering the boutique-lined streets nearby. Finally, there is a darling souveneir shop located walking distance that you need to check out. It’s called Merci 🙂
2. Noir Coffee

If sleek and stylish is your vibe, Noir Coffee is an absolute must in Paris. With several locations scattered throughout the city, Noir has become a go-to for coffee lovers who appreciate both quality and aesthetics. They specialize in high-grade beans roasted right here in Paris, ensuring every cup is rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.
That said, the crown jewel is undoubtedly their two-story flagship in the 9th arrondissement. This café is a masterpiece in design—think soaring double-height doors, elegant checkered floors, and a modern yet timeless atmosphere that feels quintessentially Parisian. It’s the kind of space where you can easily lose track of time, whether you’re catching up with a friend, diving into a good book, or simply soaking up the ambiance.
3. Seamer Coffee

This Asian-owned café is truly a hidden gem in the 9th arrondissement, beloved for its warm and cozy atmosphere and some of the best flat whites in the city. The coffee here is perfectly balanced, smooth, rich, and crafted with care. It hit the spot on a hot summer days and it’s the ideal place to pause between sightseeing stops.
Beyond the coffee, what really makes this spot special is the welcoming vibe that encourages you to slow down and enjoy the moment, just like the Parisians do. Their sign outside said “The best coffee is the one you like” and honestly, true that! Grab a seat by the window and you’ll find yourself lingering, people-watching, and soaking in the neighborhood charm of this area. If you’re looking for a solid patisserie to pair with your coffee then check out Ernest & Valentin a few blocks away.
4. Sevenly Heart

This cafe is for the girlies! Sevenly Heart is located in the Marais and the decor inside is truly dreamy. Lace curtains, vintage plates, beautiful antique pieces, and Frank Ocean playing on the speaker? Can I move in? 6. Le Crème du Palais Royal

A new favorite has officially entered the chat, Le Crème du Palais Royal. Just steps from the iconic Palais Royal, this café is the perfect blend of Parisian charm and modern elegance. With its chic interior design and relaxed ambiance, it’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down.
The coffee here is artisanal and beautifully crafted, but the food deserves just as much attention. I treated myself to their Nutella and banana waffle, and let me tell you—it was pure great! Especially when paired with a refreshing iced latte. Yes, the prices are on the steeper side, but that’s to be expected given its enviable location just around the corner from some of Paris’s most famous landmarks. Consider it a well-earned splurge after a morning of museum hopping or shopping in the 1st arrondissement. The best part? Once you’ve had your fill, step right outside and wander through the Palais Royal gardens.
7. Joho
With its minimalist interiors, curated playlists, and consistently excellent brews, Joho is one of those effortlessly cool cafés that locals would rather keep a secret. The vibe is laid-back yet stylish, making it equally perfect for a slow morning with your journal or a productive remote work session.
While their coffee is top-notch, Joho also shines for its matcha lattes, which are some of the best in Paris. Smooth, vibrant, and perfectly balanced, it’s the kind of drink that pairs beautifully with the café’s modern, creative energy. Add in the warm, friendly service and you’ve got a spot that feels more like a community than just another coffee shop!
8. Petit Palais

Did you know that one of Paris’s most beautiful museums also hides a café in its courtyard? Welcome to the Petit Palais. This museum is a true Parisian gem—not only is it absolutely stunning, but it’s also completely free to visit, making it one of the best-kept secrets in the city.
After you’ve strolled through its grand halls filled with fine art, sculptures, and decorative treasures, step outside into the central courtyard. Here you’ll find a serene café tucked among colonnades, mosaics, and a lush garden. It feels worlds away from the bustle of the Champs-Élysées just outside. The setting is as romantic as it gets. Think tranquil fountains, ornate architecture, and plenty of quiet corners to linger over a cappuccino.
The Café du Petit Palais serves light bites, pastries, and coffee, making it the perfect spot to recharge after exploring the museum. Whether you’re visiting for breakfast, a mid-morning espresso, or a leisurely afternoon coffee, the atmosphere here is unmatched.
Opening hours: The café follows the museum schedule, open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed on Mondays and certain holidays). Pro tip: arrive earlier in the day to enjoy a peaceful coffee before the lunchtime crowd arrives. It’s the kind of hidden oasis you’ll want to remember for your next Paris trip!
9. Maison Fleuret Paris
If you’re looking for a café that feels like stepping into a secret Parisian hideaway, Maison Fleuret should be on your list. Tucked away in the 11th arrondissement, this specialty coffee shop has quickly built a reputation for its chic yet cozy atmosphere and beautifully crafted drinks. The stunning interior, lined with shelves of neutral-toned books, feels like an absolute dream for book lovers.
The interior strikes that perfect Paris balance—minimalist but warm, with plenty of natural light and thoughtful details that make you want to linger a little longer. Coffee purists will love their seasonal pour-overs and expertly pulled espresso shots, while those looking for something a bit different can opt for one of their inventive specialty drinks. And if you’re a fan of matcha, you’ll be happy to know they do it exceptionally well here.
10. Halle St. Pierre

Tucked at the foot of Montmartre, this artsy café inside a cultural center radiates creative energy. It’s not just a café—it also doubles as a bookshop and a small museum, making it the perfect spot to stay for a while. Grab a coffee, browse through the thoughtfully curated books, and wander the exhibits before stepping outside. Don’t miss continuing up the hill to the Sacré-Cœur and exploring all the charm that Montmartre has to offer. You can find out more about this spot here!
11. Carette

Carette is the quintessential Parisian café experience. It’s elegant, timeless, and just a little bit indulgent. Famous for their decadent hot chocolate topped with a mountain of Chantilly cream, it’s a treat that lives up to the hype (and yes, I can confirm, it’s absolutely worth it!). The location near Trocadéro tends to draw crowds and long lines, but their Marais outpost is much more relaxed, making it an ideal spot to soak in the Parisian café culture without the wait.
Yes, the prices are on the higher side, but consider it an experience rather than just a coffee stop. Settle into one of their charming tables, order a pastry to go along with your chocolat chaud, and take your time. Whether you’re catching up with a friend or simply savoring a slow Paris morning, Carette is the perfect excuse to indulge in the art of leisure, Parisian style. And right across the cobblestoned street is one of my favorite parks in all of Paris, Place des Vosges, you simply can’t miss a visit here! It’s the perfect spot for a picnic 🙂
12. Café de Flore

An icon of Paris, Café de Flore hardly needs an introduction. Nestled in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, this legendary café has been a gathering place for artists, writers, and philosophers for decades. Think Sartre, Picasso, and Simone de Beauvoir. While it’s undeniably touristy today, it still holds onto that old-world Parisian charm that makes it worth experiencing at least once.
The menu is classic and indulgent: the croque madame is rich and perfectly executed, and their signature hot chocolate is the perfect companion on a rainy Paris afternoon. But one thing you absolutely can’t miss? The crème brûlée. With its perfectly caramelized sugar crust that cracks just right, and silky custard beneath.
Yes, you’ll be paying for the name and the history as much as the food, but that’s part of the Café de Flore experience. Settle in at one of the terrace tables, order a café crème (or that iconic hot chocolate), and take in the timeless ritual of Parisian café culture unfolding around you.
13. Fabula

Tucked inside the Musée Carnavalet, one of Paris’s most beautiful museums, you’ll find a charming outdoor café that feels like a hidden gem in the heart of the Marais. After wandering through the museum’s incredible exhibits on the history of Paris (which is free!), stepping into the courtyard feels like a little retreat. It’s only open May through September but it’s the perfect spot to pause, rest your feet, and soak in the Parisian atmosphere away from the busy streets.
The menu is simple yet elegant, with a selection of coffees, teas, and light bites—perfect for a leisurely break in between exploring. I recommend ordering a pastry with your café crème and, if the weather is nice, grabbing a seat on the terrace to enjoy the tranquil garden views. I posted up here for a good while enjoying my book and people watching. It’s the perfect way to take in the city’s beauty in a more intimate way.
So that about covers it fam! Paris isn’t just about croissants and wine—it’s also home to a thriving coffee culture that’s well worth exploring. From historic cafés like Café de Flore to hidden gems like Boot Café, there’s a spot for every kind of coffee lover. So next time you’re wandering the Parisian streets, skip the chain coffee shops and give one of these incredible spots a try!
