One important thing to note is Lyon shuts down on Sundays. Roughly 90% of businesses are closed so keep that in mind when planning your day trip to Lyon. Start your day with a visit to the stunning Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, perched high above the city. As you descend, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the bustling markets at Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse. How to Get to Lyon

Lyon is well-connected and accessible from various locations. Here are some details about traveling to Lyon:

• From Paris:
  • Train: The most convenient way to travel from Paris to Lyon is by train. The high-speed train takes about 1.5 to 2 hours from Paris Gare de Lyon to Lyon Part-Dieu station. Trains are frequent, and tickets can be booked in advance for the best prices.
• Flying In:
  • Airport: Lyon is served by Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS). Located east of the city center. The airport offers numerous direct flights to and from major European cities.
  • Airport Transfer: From Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport, you can reach the city center by the Rhônexpress tram. It takes about 30 minutes. Alternatively, taxis and shuttle services are available.
