My Gucci Soho Disco Bag Review

I’ve had my Gucci Soho Disco bag for five years now and I can honestly say it was one of the best designer purchases I’ve made. It was my first designer bag and has been through my side for epic trips around the globe. In this blog post, I will share my 5 Reasons why you need the Gucci Soho Disco Bag in your life along with all the pros, cons, where to purchase, and how to style the Gucci crossbody.

Durability + Sizing

The leather on the Gucci crossbody is super durable albeit very soft. Again, I have had it for five years now and there is not one scratch, one blemish, or any aging of any kind still to this day. The leather softens up year after year and I would highly recommend getting a leather conditioner or bringing it to a cobbler once every couple of years so that your bag stays in amazing shape.

Pros to the Gucci Soho Disco Bag

The bag is much bigger than you would think

I was surprised to see how much actually fits in my Gucci Crossbody. You can fit a full-size wallet, an iPhone Max, and still have plenty of room for all your other bag necessities.

Classic/timeless style

No matter how many years pass, this baby is going to be in style forever. It’s a classic design and the embossed interlocking G embellishment makes for a stylish accent.

Super Lightweight

Although I usually pack my bag to the brim, it never feels overweight. This is great for traveling because nobody wants to feel weighed down when sightseeing. My Gucci crossbody and I have traveled to many countries together and I can’t wait to explore more of the world with it!

Cons to the Gucci Soho Disco Bag

The soft leather can lose its shape

It’s not the biggest issue however if you store the crossbody for a long time without stuffing it, it can lose its shape and the leather can sink into the middle. I typically always keep my designer items stuffed with older clothes I was thinking of donating in order to keep its shape. Along with that, always store your designer items in the dust bag that comes with the purchase.

The lining is a light linen

While it’s pretty and you can easily spot items in your bag, for those messy ladies that tend to spill things in their purses this can be a setback. I’ve had mine for five years and have no stains (knock on wood) but I’m always hesitant stuffing just anything in this purse for that reason alone.

I purchased mine for Saks, being that I worked there at the time and I was able to snag an employee discount. However, I’ve seen them for sale at most of the higher-end retailers. For example, Nordstrom, ShopBop, and Bloomingdales. But for the best in-stock availability check out Gucci.com.

Do note, this classic style never goes on sale so it can be a little intimidating spending this much on a crossbody. However, if you calculate the cost per wear it’s well worth it in my opinion. Not to mention that the price goes up yearly so it most definitely is an investment piece. Finally, you will have this crossbody for years to come and it will end up being your go-to bag!
