My Honest Review on staying at the Sands Hotel and Spa
A Moroccan oasis in the middle of the desert, better known as the Sands Hotel and Spa. You truly feel as though you’ve been transported into a different country when you walk through the doors of this resort. It was re-designed and curated in 2018 by Martyn Lawrence Bullard. He is a renowned designer in Palm Springs and was named top 100 designers in the world. We’ve had the pleasure of staying here 2 times and I’m going to spill my honest “Hotel review: The Sands Hotel and Spa”. Before we dive in, do note that this resort is for adults only.
Where is the Sands Hotel and Spa?
This hotel is located 30 minutes south of downtown Palm Springs in Indian Wells. Technically it’s in the greater Palm Springs area. But if your goal is to be close to downtown. Consider another hotel. The surrounding area is quiet (aside from The Nest IYKYK) and it’s the main reason why people stay at this hotel, to RELAX. Furthermore, it’s extremely close to the Coachella polo field so during those weekends it will be bustling. The exact address is 985 Province Way Indian Wells, CA 92210.
Accommodations (The Rooms)
This resort is quaint and has only 46 guest rooms. It adds to the charm of this place. Lawrence Bullard really wanted to provide each guest with a unique experience. So each room is different! The details were done beautifully and the pictures above are of a superior king room. Finally, they offer a presidential suite and 2 junior suites.
The Pool & Spa
Everyone’s favorite accommodation is the pool. This one is heated and on the smaller side. But since it’s only open for guests, we never had an issue getting chairs. During a holiday weekend, you’ll want to make sure to get out there early to secure a spot. They also offer cabanas for rent and have fresh lemon water and sun bum products for you to use while enjoying the sun. Furthermore, there is a small 4-6 person jacuzzi next to the pool open until 10 pm.
The spa is open every day from 10 am – 6 pm. They offer multiple services from massages to facials and even body scrubs. All treatments integrate naturally sourced ingredients from Morocco. Finally, it’s by appointment only so make sure to book in advance.
Hotel Restaurant: The Pink Cabana
The Pink Cabana is a staple in the Palm Springs restaurant scene. It was designed by Martyn Lawrence Bullard and was modeled after a 50’s racquet club. The decor is a girl’s dream and the food is most definitely worth the hype. We’ve been for brunch and dinner and prefer the brunch but you can’t go wrong with either (the french toast is our favorite dish!). They do accept reservations so if you’re not staying at the hotel, make them in advance.

How to Book + Pricing
So when booking hotel accommodations, it always depends on the date. If traveling during the weekend (which most people do) expect higher prices. If you can travel during the week you’ll find the lowest fares. As a travel blogger, I always book my stay on booking for the best rates. During the week the rooms start at $350 a night and during peak season on the weekend (November – May) rooms start at $500.
All in all, The Sands Hotel and Spa is definitely worth the hype. If you’re looking for a relaxing resort to reset then this is the place for you. My husband and I continue to come back when we visit Palm Springs. Thank you for reading! If you need help packing for Palm Springs I have you covered with my Palm Springs packing guide.
