When to Visit Las Vegas?
Las Vegas is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on your preferences. If you’re looking for a more relaxed atmosphere and lower prices, consider visiting during the spring (March to May) or fall (September to November). These periods offer mild weather, with average highs in the mid-70s to mid-80s (°F). If you’re interested in experiencing the city’s vibrant nightlife and pool parties, summer might be the best time for you, despite the scorching heat. Winters are generally cooler, but prices tend to be higher due to holiday demand.

Choosing the right accommodation in Las Vegas can make a significant difference in your trip. The Las Vegas Strip is the most popular area to stay, offering a wide range of hotels and resorts, from budget-friendly options to luxurious properties like the Bellagio. Whether you’re seeking luxury, entertainment, or a touch of serenity amidst the city’s nonstop energy, these hotels stand out as top choices for your stay:
1. Bellagio Hotel & Casino

Getting Around Las Vegas?
Las Vegas has a well-developed public transportation system, making it easy to get around without a car. The Las Vegas Monorail is a convenient option, connecting the Strip to Downtown and other nearby attractions. You can also use the Deuce and SDX buses, which cover the Strip and beyond. Ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are widely available, and taxis are also an option. If you prefer to drive, be aware that traffic on the Strip can be heavy, especially during peak hours.

Welcome to Las Vegas, where excitement greets you the moment you step off the plane! After landing at Harry Reid International Airport, grab your bags and make your way to your hotel. Don’t forget to stop by the ‘Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas’ sign. A must-see landmark that captures the vibrant spirit of the city. However, there is typically a long line to take pictures here. As well as a small parking lot so depending on the time of day you may just want to pass by.

As you walk through the lobby, the dazzling lights and hum of excitement set the tone for the adventures ahead, take it all in. Once you’ve dropped off your bags, take a moment to freshen up and explore your hotel. Or simply relaxing in your room to recharge for the fun that awaits!
Late Morning: Explore the iconic hotels and casinos
For our first outing, we are starting with a tour of the iconic casinos. If you are looking to get your steps in this is a great route to walk and explore however, do note that most casinos offer free parking. Make sure to visit Paris Las Vegas, where you can experience the Eiffel Tower attraction, including its viewing deck, and dining at Mon Ami Gabi for a French experience. If you are a housewife fan as myself then consider dining at Vanderpump Paris.
Begin your hotel tour at The Venetian, where you can enjoy the stunning replica of Venice’s Grand Canal complete with gondola rides and intricate Italian architecture. Explore The Palazzo connected to The Venetian, known for its upscale shopping and dining options.
Next, visit Caesars Palace, an iconic hotel known for its Roman-inspired architecture and grandeur. There are tons of things to do at Caesars from visiting the Forum Shops to taking a ride on the tallest observation wheel in North America “The High Roller Observation Wheel”. You can even visit a slice of Italy with the mini Trevi Fountain in front of Caesars Palace.
Afternoon: Lunch + Visit the Attractions along the Strip
After Caesars, you can easily walk over to The Bellagio and explore the stunning Bellagio Conservatory. An open-air atrium that houses over 14,000 flowers and changes themes with every season. It is hands down the best free activity in Las Vegas.
Next, enjoy a delicious lunch at Sadelle’s which is housed in the conservatory. When dining you cannot miss out on the bagels they are chefs kiss. Along with that, the triple-decker sandwich is iconic and can be shared with up to 3 people. On your way out, you can’t miss the famous Bellagio fountain show which runs every 30 minutes and starts at 3 pm.
To end your afternoon, journey to downtown Vegas district Fremont Street. This area is known as “old Vegas” and is a vibrant and historic area that offers a stark contrast to the modern glitz and glamour of Vegas. Lined with vintage casinos, neon lights, and a bustling pedestrian promenade, Fremont Street is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the city’s roots.
Evening: Dinner and a Show
For your first evening, start with dinner and a show, which Vegas always does so well. The iconic Las Vegas sign is a perfect first stop for tourists, offering a memorable photo opportunity and a key starting point for exploring the Las Vegas Strip. The Mayfair Supper Club is unique in the fact that they have performances nightly as you dine. The restaurant setting and ambiance are truly beautiful as well. Finally, end your evening with a live show. I’ve curated a collection of them below to choose from.
Day 2: Downtown Las Vegas and Beyond
Morning: Explore the Red Rock Canyon
Start your day with a hearty breakfast, or perhaps a breakfast buffet (they are iconic in Vegas). You are going to want to fuel up to explore the surrounding areas. Many first-time visitors make the mistake of visiting Vegas and not venturing outside of the strip. There is so much beauty in this desert so it’s best to take a day trip and explore. While visiting the Grand Canyon is a bit of a stretch from Vegas (a 4-hour drive one way), the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is a great alternative for hiking and is only located 30 minutes outside of the Strip.
Red Rock Canyon is known for its stunning red sandstone formations, dramatic cliffs, and vibrant desert landscape. It offers visitors a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The conservation area is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a variety of recreational activities such as hiking, rock climbing, and mountain biking. With over 30 miles of hiking trails, ranging from easy walks to challenging hikes, there’s something for every skill level and interest.
Best Things to Do in Red Rock Canyon
- Hiking: With over 30 miles of hiking trails, Red Rock Canyon offers hikes for all skill levels. Popular trails include the Calico Tanks Trail, which offers panoramic views of the canyon, and the Ice Box Canyon Trail, which features a seasonal waterfall. Remember to always practice the 7 principles and leave no trace.
- Scenic Drives: The 13-mile scenic drive through Red Rock Canyon offers breathtaking views of the towering red sandstone cliffs and rock formations. There are several pullouts and overlooks along the way, perfect for taking photos.
- Rock Climbing: The sandstone cliffs of Red Rock Canyon provide a challenging and scenic backdrop for rock climbing. There are routes for climbers of all abilities, and guided climbing tours are available for beginners.
- Mountain Biking: The conservation area offers a network of trails for mountain biking, ranging from easy to challenging. The trails wind through the desert landscape, offering stunning views and a thrilling ride.

- Picnicking: There are several picnic areas throughout Red Rock Canyon where visitors can relax and enjoy a meal surrounded by stunning desert scenery.
Afternoon: Valley of Fire
The Valley of Fire is one of the most beautiful parts of Nevada. The park gets its name from the way the sun’s rays illuminate the rocks, creating a fiery glow. Located about an hour and a half outside of the strip, it’s known for its mesmerizing red sandstone formations.
For a perfect Las Vegas itinerary day, visitors to the Valley of Fire can explore a variety of hiking trails that wind through the park’s unique landscape, offering opportunities to see ancient petroglyphs, towering rock formations, and sweeping desert vistas. The park is also home to diverse wildlife, including bighorn sheep, coyotes, and a variety of bird species. It’s a photographer’s dream!
Best things to do when visiting the Valley of Fire 3 Days in Las Vegas itinerary
- Scenic Drives: Take a drive along the park’s scenic routes, such as the Valley of Fire Road, Mouse’s Tank Road, and White Domes Road, to admire the stunning rock formations and desert landscape.
- Hiking: Explore the park’s many hiking trails, which range from easy walks to more challenging treks. Don’t miss the Fire Wave Trail, which offers stunning views of striped sandstone formations. Remember to always practice the 7 principles and leave no trace.

- Wildlife Viewing: Keep an eye out for the park’s diverse wildlife, including bighorn sheep, coyotes, and a variety of bird species. Binoculars can enhance your wildlife viewing experience.
If you prefer to visit the famous Hoover Dam at the Nevada/Arizona border you can eliminate either Red Rock Canyon or Valley of Fire and do a Hoover Dam Tour instead. Since 2010, you have been unable to drive along the Hoover Dam and instead now, you can drive on the bypass route the Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. It’s about a 50-minute drive from the Strip.
Evening: Dinner with a View
Indulging in one of the most breathtaking views in town is an experience reserved for those captivated by the Eiffel Tower perspective from the Bellagio. Within the Bellagio, an array of restaurants presents this iconic view as the backdrop. Among the notable options are Spago, Mayfair Supper Club, Picasso, and PRIME.
A personal recommendation, Spago, not only offers a captivating view (and fountain performances). But also delivers an impeccable dining experience, particularly in its Italian cuisine. The culinary journey at Spago unfolds with menu favorites such as Spaghettini Pomodoro, Prime Filet Mignon, and the renowned seafood towers.
Day 3: Adventure and Relaxation
Morning Room Service and Spa Visit
For your last morning on this 3 Days in Las Vegas Itinerary, start with a leisurely room service breakfast and spend time indulging in a spa treatment. May I recommend the couple’s massage at the Aria Resort, it was incredibly relaxing. The Aria facilities offer a few saunas, cold plunges, and mineral rooms and there is no time limit if you book a treatment.
Late Afternoon: Visit the Seven Magic Mountains
Next, spend the late morning and early afternoon lounging by the pool. Then consider visiting the Seven Magic Mountains. It’s an art installation located in the desert, just 30 minutes south of the Las Vegas strip. Created by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone, this vibrant and surreal installation consists of seven towering, neon-painted totems of stacked boulders, reaching up to 30 feet in height.
The juxtaposition of the brightly colored rocks against the natural Mojave Desert backdrop creates a striking visual spectacle. It’s a photographer’s dream. The installation, unveiled in 2016, was supposed to be temporary but currently, there are no plans to take it down. There is a small dirt parking lot and this installation is free to visit.
Evening: Dinner and The Neon Museum
For tonight’s dinner allow me to recommend, Catch. Dining at Catch in Las Vegas was an exceptional experience, seamlessly blending an enticing atmosphere with exquisite cuisine. The stylish decor, coupled with a vibrant energy, sets the stage for a memorable evening. From innovative sushi creations to succulent seafood and mouthwatering steaks, the menu caters to diverse palates.
Next up, visit the Neon Museum in Las Vegas. It is like stepping into a time capsule of the city’s rich history and vibrant culture. As you stroll through the outdoor exhibition known as the Neon Boneyard, you’re surrounded by a mesmerizing collection of retired and restored neon signs that once adorned the iconic landmarks of the Strip. It’s a nostalgic and visually stunning experience that allows you to witness the luminous soul of Las Vegas, preserved in the radiant glow of its historic neon signs. It’s open every evening until 10 pm and they don’t allow professional photography.

Appreciate the itinerary. The Day 1 ends with a suggestion for a Live Show … unfortunately you seemed to have missed the curated list of such shows as mentioned in the article. Grateful if you can advise on the same. Also is it worth the time and money to do 2 shows or just 1 should suffice, considering that we have only 3 nights
